Founded in 1977, the Mini Transat is sailed on Mini 6.50s, in prototype and production divisions. In 2025 the first leg from Les Sables-d'Olonne to La Palma was cancelled because of a hurricane threat, and the race was decided over a single leg from La Palma to Saint-François (Guadeloupe). The 2027 edition will start from La Rochelle to Las Palmas, then Salvador de Bahia.
