Transat Paprec: TeamWork's Figaro record
Formerly the Transat AG2R and then the Transat en Double, the Transat Paprec is the big crossing of the Figaro circuit. It is sailed two-handed on identical Figaro Bénéteau 3 one-designs, from Concarneau to Saint-Barthélemy. With equal boats, the record depends on weather and strategy more than on the boat.
The record: TeamWork, 2021
On 30 May 2021, Nils Palmieri and Julien Villion (TeamWork) were first into Gustavia after 18 days 5 hours 8 minutes and 3 seconds. They chose a northern route that proved decisive against seventeen other pairs, on a theoretical course of 4,239 miles. They took 6 hours 40 minutes off the previous record, held by Adrien Hardy and Thomas Ruyant (Figaro Nautisme, in French). It was also the first time the race was sailed on the Figaro 3, the foiling one-design launched in 2019.
The editions since
In 2023, Loïs Berrehar and Charlotte Yven won on Skipper Macif. In 2025, Charlotte Yven won again with Hugo Dhallenne, in 18 days 19 hours 16 minutes and 54 seconds, only 42 minutes ahead of the next pair (ICI, in French). She became the first woman to win two editions in a row. The 2021 record therefore still stands.
The next edition
The 18th edition will start from Concarneau on 18 April 2027 (official site).
